Automatic Parking Garage is Back in Demand

The automatic parking garage can double or triple the parking space. These garages offer clear-cut benefits for several types of buildings and businesses. The high-tech robotics used in the parking systems allows for stress-free parking. Due to advancements in technology, manufacturers, and designers of parking lots looking for ways of providing more convenience for users.  More developers and contractors now like to use such solutions to save on real estate cost. Due to an increase in population, there are more cars on the road which create a shortage of parking space.

Many businesses may find the cost of such installations considerable, but the benefits to their operations are many while the business gains the potential to be transformative. Drivers are able to park the cars with minimal effort and maximum convenience. Visitors to a building are able to quickly drop off their cars and have them parked by robots. This is a pleasant luxury that all car drivers appreciate. Traffic to such buildings increases and you can get a good return on investment if you like.  If the cost of the garage is a major expense for your establishment, you can have the visitors pay a small fe for the parking to cover the installation cost of the automatic parking garage.

These garages are not new but were discontinued earlier on in history. Mechanical parking was used in the early 19th century. In the early days of a parking garage, people did not park the cars themselves. The garages had to be covered as the cars of those days had the open tops and leather seats. They had to be parked in a covered lot to protect it from the rain.

Car drivers had to leave the car to an attendant who would park the car for them. The vehicles used to be placed on a platform and with the help of car lifts and turntables it was moved to an unoccupied parking spot. Various car lift designs were drawn up in 1920’s to shift cars from one deck to another. The design called as “Double Helix” had two spiral ramps to shift the cars in a given structure. The automated parking garage of today is hence not a new idea. The idea was given up earlier as more people wanted to park their cars on their own so they can enter and exit whenever they like.

The design of the cars improved over the years and alongside the covered garages, people began to park their cars on their own in the open parking lots. There was no shortage of space and they found it more convenient. The builders also saved on the cost of car lifts and turntables so this way the need for a mechanical garage was not there anymore. Now with the car sales booming and the shortage of parking space, the automatic parking garage is back in great demand.
